Description

Donald Kendall Chapman's account of Hackford House Scouts Troup's attendance at the King's Rally in 1911. The troop had been formed in 1910 by Samuel Bircham & by the time of the rally had three patrols. Donald describes the railway journey, the camping experience & the Bircham's hospitality at Beech Hill, Surrey in great detail. His style & use of vocabulary are interesting for a boy of 16. The scouts also had time to see some famous London landmarks & to visit London Zoo.
