Ginnett's Circus

Title

Ginnett's Circus

Description

Very old image, possibly 1890s. Taken in the Market Place facing the chemist shop run by Johnson Cripps. In more recent times this building was once used by Barclay's Bank, later by Quinneys & more recently by Country Cottages. The large wagon in the centre belongs to Ginnetts Circus that regularly visited Kings Lynn, Norwich and Great Yarmouth at the end of the 19th century. Note the frontage of the shop on the right, currently housing Robertsons butcher's shop. This was replaced before 1903 by a stepped roof.
