Studio portrait of Mary Besford Timbers (1858-1940). Mary was the daughter of Charles Timbers & Charlotte Jarvis. Before she was married she lived with her grandfather William at Six Crossways where the women of the family ran a laundry business.
In 1885 Mary married Thomas Piercy who worked for Edward Gibbs. They first lived in Hall Road (now Ollands Road) and later at The Hill, Hackford. Thomas died in 1930. Mary was Wesley Piercy's grandmother. She continued to live at The Hill until she died in 1940.
