Photographs of the front (inset shows porch window close-up) & rear of the Sun with the display text used in the RS Exhibition 2003. Includes a view of Whitwell Road showing the rear of the Sun.

The Foldgate, a thatched public house on Whitwell Common, operated from the 1830s through to 1969. The name can also appear as Falgate, Faldgate, Fallgate, Folgate.

The Sun Inn now incorporates a shop as well as living space but the porch retains its original glass window.
