Description

Talk given by Brenda Gostling & presentation by Janet Archer using materials & resources from Reepham Archive as well as online information from the British Red Cross website. The presentation slides are shown here as the second item. The first slide gives links to two online videos, one of a VAD nurse, the second of a recuperating soldier being helped to dress. On display were photographs of Reepham Town Hall as a hospital ward, recuperating soldiers with nursing staff and military activity in the Market Place. Also included were biographical details for some of the nurses & soldiers, the owner & residents of Hackford House, & the names of volunteers from the town who helped to run the hospital.
